Although there are several fundamental works referring to the Romanian commons this is the first written from the theoretical perspective of political science. At the same time this book represents a collection of case studies which are analyzed from various perspectives highlighting different aspects of the Ostromian theoretical approach. Thus it may be seen and understood as a collection of inidual papers related to the institutional analysis of the commons managed by the Romanian communal villages throughout time.
