This is followed by factual articles and information about each period along with stimulating activities for comprehension and written and spoken production. The main themes and social issues that characterise each period are also discussed in the context of today s Italy enabling students to gain a broader understanding of Italy s history and culture in a light and entertaining way. The songs selected for each unit not only follow a chronological order but also demonstrate a gradual linguistic progression from CEFR level A2 to B2 allowing students to develop both their historical understanding and their linguistic capabilities.
