The curse of hoarding the Salcuta hoard - Cristian Gazdac

The coin hoard was found by Lakatos Attila while metal detecting on June 13 2022 on the territory of the locality of S lcu a commune S nmihaiu de C mpie Bistri a-N s ud County Romania map 1 at the boundary spot called Hodaie P durea Satului. According to the Romanian legislation the artefacts were firstly submitted to the mayor hall of the residence commune S nmihaiu de C mpie from where they were sent to the County Department for Culture Bistri a-N s ud. At present they are in the custody of the County Museum Complex in Bistri a. The place is located approximately 1 km SW of the village of S lcu a on a pasture field figure 1 . The hoard was retrieved from a depth of 50 45 cm on a slight slope. In order to extract the hoard a pit of 60 50 cm was dug out by he finder who has extended the area of digging 180 120 m and 15 cm deep checking for possible coins left over.
